Title:
James Rizzi - TIME WARP - Original 3D Silkscreen - Signed & Numbered - 1989 - Rare Theme
⸻
Description
James Rizzi (1950–2011) was a pioneering figure in contemporary pop art, internationally acclaimed for his distinctive 3D construction technique. His works vividly capture the joyful chaos and vibrant rhythm of New York City through a playful “urban primitive” style that continues to inspire collectors worldwide.
This exceptional work, titled “TIME WARP” (1989), originates from Rizzi’s most sought-after creative period during the late 1980s.
A particularly desirable composition, this piece uniquely combines prehistoric dinosaurs with a lively urban cityscape—a rare and highly collectible theme in the Rizzi market. Iconic smiling buildings, whimsical characters, and UFOs interact across multiple layers, while the hand-assembled 3D structure creates remarkable depth, giving the illusion that the dinosaurs are stepping out of the frame.
As an original 1980s 3D silkscreen, this artwork holds strong appeal for both collectors and investors. Works featuring imaginative crossover themes such as this are increasingly difficult to source and often achieve premium results at international auctions.
