Description from the seller
Carole Fournier | The Radiance of Matter
Painting is for me a dialogue between the brute force of nature and the delicacy of light.
For many years, I have been exploring abstraction and semi-abstraction with a constant quest: to translate on the canvas the power of the elements and to give life to the shiny material I imagine in my mind by adding gold leaf to my works. My work is an alchemical search where every texture comes to life under my fingers.
My approach: a personal alchemy; I compose my own mediums. I use acrylic that I blend with personal mixtures incorporating coffee to give my grounds an organic soul and a singular authenticity.
Inspired by the forces of nature and the vibration of colors, I have the privilege of seeing my work travel. From competitions to exhibitions, my approach has allowed me to win prizes and sell my works in several countries.
Wild Nature 63x63 cm:
I built the composition on a strong contrast: a stormy sky, which I worked in shades of deep blues and turquoises, looms over a land of ochre and gold with dancing reliefs. I used a coating to create a physical presence, and I adorned these reliefs with gold leaf. A small collage completes the work; a small yellow prism, bright as a light in the storm.
