Description from the seller
Tibetan Buddhist Amitayus (Buddha of Longevity) — Crafted from Pure Copper
The Buddha of Longevity is depicted in a meditative seated posture, wearing a five-lobed jeweled crown. His hands form the *Dhyana Mudra* (Meditation Gesture), cradling a precious vase symbolizing longevity. His countenance is at once majestic and compassionate. The folds of his robes and the ornamentation of his crown are accented with gilding, while his garments feature intricate chased engravings of scrolling floral motifs. The double-tiered lotus pedestal upon which he sits is finely carved, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship.
As the foremost figure among the "Three Deities of Longevity" in Tibetan Buddhism, the Buddha of Longevity symbolizes enduring blessings and longevity, as well as the dispelling of calamities. This piece is ideally suited for veneration in a Buddhist shrine or for inclusion in a collection of Tibetan Buddhist art.
