Solid Oak Backgammon Set

This solid oak board probably dates from around 1950 and is almost certainly of Belgian manufacture. The original playing surface of green felt with ochre and black points is in good condition for a game from this period. The felt shows some signs of aging, which in my opinion attest to the authenticity and active use of this antique game. The exterior of the case is in good condition.

It is a full-size board of 74 x 47 cm when laid out. The beautiful piano hinges and clasps are made of brass and are in excellent condition.

The twisted game pieces in olive wood (28 pieces) have a diameter of 5 cm and possess a nice patina (see photo), just like the two hand-stitched leather dice cups.
