MEDSAN signed by hand, Mechanical Falcon (機械の隼), a 40×40 cm high‑quality giclée on wood, limited edition numbered 1, 2026, from France, depicting Culture Pop and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
High-quality Giclée mounted on a wooden frame - Hand-signed and numbered - 2026
Artwork signed by Medsan, an artist member of Atelier Joconde, known for reappropriations of cultural icons and bold stylistic fusions.
In this singular creation titled "The Mechanical Falcon," Medsan orchestrates a striking visual anachronism, confronting the martial discipline of feudal Japan with 21st-century technology. The work, produced as a high-quality Giclée, faithfully reproduces the graphic codes of Ukiyo-e prints, notably with a textured yellow background evoking the veins of the wood traditionally used for engraving.
The composition features a imposing warrior, dressed in a richly embroidered kimono with wave motifs (seigaiha), wearing a straw hat (sugegasa) and carrying two swords at the waist (daishō). The subversion occurs on his outstretched arm, protected by a thick leather glove: instead of a traditional bird of prey for falconry, the samurai holds a bright orange drone, ready to take flight. This strong chromatic and thematic contrast between the blue of the ancestral garment and the orange of the modern device adds a dimension that is both humorous and critical to the work.
According to tradition, the artist's signature "Medsan" is calligraphed in Japanese characters (katakana) in a rectangular cartouche located at the top right of the composition (メドサン).
A quirky, graphic, and profoundly contemporary work, ideal for a collector sensitive to Pop Art, cultural anachronisms, and Japanese aesthetics.

About Atelier Joconde:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true artistic production space, the atelier operates both in collective creation and individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work influenced by cinema and realism. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward Pop Art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive pursuit, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
Keywords: Samurai, Ronin, Drone, Falconry, Technology, Anachronism, Japan, Ukiyo-e, Pop Art, Mashup, Humor, Medsan, Atelier Joconde, Giclée, Limited Edition, Contemporary Art, Square Format.
