Medsan’s Cybernetic Kabuki (サイバー歌舞伎の解体) – Hand Signed is a 2026 limited-edition giclée printed on wood panel, 40x60 cm, numbered 1 and signed, produced in France in excellent condition with a pop art, cyberpunk aesthetic.
Description from the seller
High-quality giclée mounted on a wooden frame - Hand-signed and numbered - 2026
Artwork signed Medsan, an artist member of Atelier Joconde, known for bold stylistic fusions and misappropriations of cultural icons.
In this striking creation titled "Cybernetic Kabuki Deconstruction," Medsan broadens his exploration of the destructive aesthetic inspired by urban Pop Art. The work, released as a high-quality giclée in a landscape format, juxtaposes traditional Japanese theatricality with a retrofuturistic and mechanical vision.
The composition opens with a Kabuki actor in a dramatic pose, fan unfurled. Under the pull of an invisible force, his kumadori makeup and his sumptuous kimono with wave motifs literally explode. The masterstroke of this piece lies in what the fragmentation reveals: instead of a classical anatomy, a dark, mechanical skull appears, composed of intricate gears meticulously carved with cherry blossoms (sakura). This duality between the coldness of the machine and the poetry of the floral motif creates a captivating visual tension, all propelled by a saturated, solid magenta background that firmly anchors the canvas in the Pop Art movement.
The artist's signature "Medsan" is calligraphed in Japanese characters (katakana) in a traditional vertical cartouche located in the upper right corner (メドサン).
A fierce, complex, and visually impactful work, ideal for a collector of subversive urban art, cyberpunk aesthetics, and deconstructed Nipponese culture.

About Atelier Joconde:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists brought together around living contemporary creation. Installed as a true production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Alongside him, Medsan, focused on pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and supervised within the atelier, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
