Frechkop, Léonid (actually Freskop, Leonid Isaakovic), Russian-Belgian draftsman, graphic artist, illustrator, theater decorator, sculptor, * 11/06/1897 Moscow, † 11.11.1982 Brussels. Uncle of Tat´jana F., ballet dancer on Bol´soj Theatre in Moscow. Stud in Moscow: 1907-17 art school of Konstantin Juon; 1917-19 FS of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture by Nikolaj Alekseevic Kasatkin, Abram Efimovic Archipov and Konstantin Alekseevic Korovin . 1922 Prior theatrical scenery in Moscow. 1922 emigrated via Riga to Belgium. In 1923 he realized decorations for the listed in Antwerp opera "The Golden Cockerel" by Rimsky-Korsakov. 1925 Marriage with Joséphine Evrard, whose sister was married to the painter Marcel Canneel. Friendship association with the latter and with Jean-Jacques Gaillard. F. made oil paintings, watercolours, gouaches, pastels, drawings and graphics. He devoted himself to various. subjects, for example, Act, figurative. (young girls, dancers), portraits, landscapes, mythological and imaginary scenes.
