History:
This is an official commemorative proof coin set authorized by the Bank of Korea for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. This set, curated from a collection in Japan, represents the pinnacle of South Korean numismatics from the late 1980s. It features the distinctive designs of Olympic sports, capturing the global excitement of the XXIVth Olympiad.
Condition:
The coins (4x 2,000 Won and 2x 1,000 Won) are in pristine, uncirculated "Proof" condition, protected inside their original plastic capsules. The set includes two original bronze-colored plastic medals as issued in the official set. The presentation box is visually striking with its deep red finish; however, please note there is some minor peeling on the hinge/back area due to long-term storage (see photo). Comes with three original Certificates of Authenticity with serial numbers D48101, D39288, and D41751.
