Beatrice Riva presents Luisa, a contemporary mixed media portrait (50 x 40 cm) signed by hand in 2015, originating from Italy and sold directly by the artist, an original edition from the 2010–2020 period accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
Description from the seller
This artwork, which depicts the legendary Marchesa Luisa Casati, is a fusion of figurative painting and collage, rich in symbolism and ethereal atmospheres. Casati’s face, dominated by deep, piercing eyes highlighted by dark, intense makeup, emerges from a neutral, slightly textured background. Her hairstyle is rendered with bold strokes in vivid colors—red, ochre, black, and touches of white—suggesting an almost feverish energy and a life spent in the spotlight.
The lower part of the piece is enriched by a collage that includes the inscription "ISOTTA FRASCHINI," together with fragments of images of vintage luxury cars. These elements, in the advertising style of the 1920s and 1930s, link Casati’s figure to opulence, elegance, and the modernity of her time, evoking an era of luxury and adventure.
The work soon became part of an exhibition in 2015 titled "Donne e motori" in Reggio Emilia and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
