Description from the seller
-Esty-
The artist Hestela Charbonnier
develops a painterly research that moves between the floral world and the figurative dimension, creating a continuous dialogue between nature and the human being. Her production spans from botanically charged compositions full of energy and matter to portraits and figures where a deep emotional sensitivity emerges.
In the floral paintings, color is the absolute protagonist: dynamic brushstrokes, material layering, and luminous contrasts transform the flower into a symbol of vitality, transformation, and fragility. The forms expand on the canvas with an instinctive yet aware gesture, giving life to intense and engaging compositions.
In the figurative works, instead, the artist explores interiority through postures, gazes, and suspended atmospheres. The figures are never simple representations, but become silent narratives, filled with emotion and psychological depth.
A common thread to both bodies of work is the attention to matter and to color as primary expressive tools. Whether it is a flower in full explosion or a figure immersed in its own thoughts, every work reflects a tension between energy and delicacy, between gesture and introspection.
There were those who swore she was waiting for someone.
Others thought she was remembering. Not a face, not a name, but a feeling—the warmth of a hand, the light weight of a moment that did not want to end.
The red blotches on her dress were not random.
They were fragments of life, moments too intense to remain invisible. Love, loss, desire—all pressed there, between brushstrokes that seemed to tremble.
And yet there was no pain in her gaze.
Only a deep calm, as one who has stopped chasing time.
Whoever entered the room, sooner or later, slowed down.
Spoke more softly. Exhaled more deeply. As if that golden silence were contagious.
And perhaps this was her secret:
she did not tell a finished story, but taught how to stop inside one that was still happening.
It was the very moment when everything stops
and finally, it blooms.
