Blanket / Rug - Navajo - U.S.

The Navajo (self-designation: Diné) are the second-largest Native American tribe in the USA and primarily inhabit a large reservation in the border area of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. Their name derives from Spanish, while they themselves refer to themselves as “the people.” They are known for their complex language, which during World War II served as an undecipherable code for secret messages, as well as for their traditional culture, which focuses on agriculture, animal husbandry (especially sheep), crafts (silver jewelry, weaving), and spirituality.

A hand-knotted blanket is offered, crafted around 1990 by the Navajo Nation in North America.
The blanket is about 120 cm long and about 90 cm wide.
