Verssan finds in pastel a way to own the body through plays of curves, voids and fullness, shadows and light, by rubbing, blending and blowing the material onto the paper. The artist treats his subjects using monochrome shades while playing with the color of the support in warm gray tones, revealing both softness and delicacy but also strength and virility.
