a rare book by the Greek author Penelope Delta in the first edition of 1935 with the author's signature printed on it, first printing, in a deluxe edition, in 200 numbered copies, here we have number 63 with 31 woodcuts inside & outside the text. The first edition of P. Delta's emblematic book "The Wizard" was published in 1935 and is one of the most important works of modern Greek children's literature which has remained popular for over 90 years! illustration: by D. Zografos, A. Polykandrioti, and D. Konstantinidis. The book tells the adventures of a Fox Terrier dog who lives with a wealthy Greek family in Alexandria, Egypt. The dog's name is Magas. The work combines humor and emotion with the story as Magas follows his master to Greece and indirectly participates in the events of the Macedonian struggle. The book is in very good condition with two or three leaves having a small tear without affecting the text or images.
