Violin 4/4 inspired by Stradivari, dating to the late 19th century, in very good overall condition, with bow included and tested as operational; total length about 60 cm, weight 388 g, carved ebony fittings, spruce top with maple back, and amber-colour varnish.
Description from the seller
Violin 4/4 model Stradivari – late 19th century
A instrument of great charm and presence, made according to the famous Stradivari model, expression of a classical lutherie that looks to the Italian tradition with evident attention to proportions and the elegance of the lines.
The violin, in 4/4 format (total length about 60 cm, weight 388 grams), presents a harmonically well-balanced structure, with spruce top of regular grain and backs in flame maple of notable aesthetic impact, characterized by deep and bright figureing that develops symmetrically. The ribs follow the same qualitative level, contributing to a cohesive and visually refined whole.
The varnish, warm and transparent, in amber honey tones, fully enhances the natural grain of the wood, returning depth and three-dimensionality to the surface. The result is an instrument that, even at first sight, communicates artisanal quality and a taste for tradition.
The scroll, well carved, presents a graceful and proportioned scroll, coherent with classical canons. The fingerboard, pegs and ebony tailpiece complete the ensemble with sobriety and elegance.
Devoid of an internal label, but clearly inspired by Stradivari models in setup and construction, the violin is plausibly dated to the late 19th or early 20th century, a period when numerous European workshops reinterpreted with high quality the Cremonese models.
The instrument comes with a bow, also period, which requires replacement of the horsehair. The strings are present and functional, but a general setup is recommended to obtain maximum sonic performance according to the musician’s preferences.
Very good state of preservation for its age, with time signs coherent and non-invasive, that do not compromise the overall harmony or the instrument’s structure. All this, on the contrary, contributes to authenticity and character.
Ideal both for musical use, after setup, and as a collectible object or decor element of great elegance, perfect in classical environments, music rooms or refined interiors where wood and artisanal tradition take center stage.
The photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packing entrusted to professionals in the field.
