Antique brass oil lamp with a heavy cylindrical reservoir – rare model with a weighted base and glass chimney – late 19th / early 20th century
Elegant old oil lamp of fine craftsmanship, made of turned and stamped brass, presenting a robust and functional construction typical of high-quality productions from the late 19th century or the early 20th century.
This model, not common, is distinguished by its high cylindrical reservoir mounted on a strongly weighted base, ensuring perfect stability and limiting tipping risks. This technical design, sought after for domestic or professional use, testifies to special care given to safety and durability.
The lamp is equipped with its side-moss burner (mèche) with a sideways adjustment knob, surmounted by a pierced gallery glass-holder, as well as its blown glass chimney of an elongated shape, essential for proper draft and optimal flame operation.
