Description from the seller

New Series – Lost souls

David Law

Photographer artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made himself known with a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he broadens this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law dives into austere and dark universes, inhabited by phantom silhouettes suspended. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A quiet journey, at the edge of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Production

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by an authenticity certificate. Prints are made on aluminum with built-in rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look.

Biography

Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical body of work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. Singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
