David Law

Artist Photographer – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops a body of work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetic of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a haunting, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law plunges into pared-down, dark universes inhabited by suspended, ghostly silhouettes. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander in strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent journey, at the edges of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Production

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum sheets, with soft UV and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary look.

Career

Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual work, he develops authorial and musical projects including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer and guitarist, he is currently performing with the group FRENZY.
