This series of surrealist portraits offers a visual exploration of the deconstruction of the human face as a metaphor for the inherent complexity of contemporary identity.

Through the intervention of the figure using geometric patterns, layered textures, and the deliberate distortion of facial features, each piece becomes an exercise in symbolic disfigurement and reconstruction.

The work invites viewers to question traditional notions of representation and the unity of the self, articulating a narrative that reflects on the fragmented nature of the subject in the digital and postmodern era. In this way, the series becomes a space for sensory and conceptual introspection, where identity is presented as a mutable process — built upon layers, ruptures, and continuous reformulations.

Aleix Albareda is an experienced Spanish painter with national exposure. His main focus is the figure and the landscape in a dream world, achieved through an expressive style with acrylic painting. His artistic vision is full of drama, relevance and power.
