Original 2019 mixed-media artwork by Adélaïde Leferme titled Ame, signed handwritten, in abstract expressionist style, depicting mythology, 130 × 93 cm, 9 kg, in excellent condition, France, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Dipped by his mother in the Styx so that his body would become invulnerable, he is the quintessential hero for the Greeks. The heel by which the goddess holds him is not dipped in the river of the underworld and remains that of a mortal.
In this work, the moral ideal of the perfect Homeric knight is his pride put to the test. Tears tinged with duality mingle with the sacred liquid of the river. It is a painful return to transgenerational roots.
In Scandinavian mythology, the raven carries a positive message; it plays the role of messenger and guardian. Near Odin, king of the gods, they are two: one is the spirit and the other memory. Among Indians, it personifies the soul.
« The tears of the past fertilize the future. »
— Alfred de Musset
Delivery or in-person handover options in Normandy, in Paris or in Maisons-Laffitte.
Repoussing the boundaries between reality and imagination, each work thus establishes a form of permeability between the composition and the outside world, which in turn becomes a full participant in the representation. Through this play of matter and perception, Adelaïde Leferme creates living works, whose very constitution makes them at once the theatres and mirrors of the contemporary world.
In-person pickup possible at the studio.
For postal shipment, due to postal and transport reasons, the canvas will be sent rolled with its original pine wood frame to be rolled up again or laid flat in width.
Shipping possible not stretched with UPS as it is out of standard format, for a delivery between 110 and 150 euros depending on the period, to be discussed.
