Beautiful small rectangular bronze patinated box, Neo-Gothic in style with religious themes. This art object of great finesse features finely carved bas-relief biblical scenes on all its faces.
Description:
Decorated lid with several panels depicting scenes from the life of Christ and the saints (Crucifixion, Entombment, worshippers in prayer, etc.).
Side faces richly adorned with Gothic motifs, arches, crosses and religious figures.
Lovely antique patina with original gold highlights still visible.
Closure by bronze hinge and hasp.
Goldsmithing or casting work of very high quality, typical of European workshops in the 19th century specializing in sacred or devotional objects.
Condition: Very good overall condition, beautiful period patina, some signs of use normal for an object of this age. No restorations.
