Description from the seller
L for Lichtenstein — The Artphabet
Edition 1/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by the digital artist Cess, in which each letter of the alphabet pays tribute to key figures in contemporary art and visual culture.
In this piece, the letter L becomes a tribute to Roy Lichtenstein, reinterpreting his iconic visual language inspired by comics and the aesthetics of popular culture. The typography is presented as a protagonist element, emerging with force from an explosive composition that evokes the graphic panels of pop art.
The background incorporates the characteristic Ben-Day dots, together with a graphic explosion of lines and color planes that recall the visual effects of comics, generating a sense of impact, dynamism and contained energy. The vibrant colors — yellows, blues, pinks and blacks — reinforce the direct, accessible and visually forceful character of the work.
The three-dimensionality brings a new contemporary reading, translating Lichtenstein’s two-dimensional language to a digital sculptural environment, where the letter gains volume, presence and an almost object-like dimension.
The composition plays with the tension between the flat and the volumetric, between the graphic and the physical, reinterpreting the codes of pop art from a current perspective. The result is a vibrant, recognizable piece rich in cultural references.
The work has been created through a completely digital 3D (CGI) process, handcrafted with particular attention to color, surfaces and the interaction of the graphic elements in space, achieving a clean, precise and highly expressive aesthetic.
The Artphabet has had wide international resonance, being disseminated in numerous design, art and visual culture media, establishing itself as one of the most prominent art typography projects in the recent digital sphere.
Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI and artificial intelligence, with an established track record in the creative sector, having collaborated with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue and MTV, among others.
The piece is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly/cotton canvas, guaranteeing excellent color reproduction, detail and volume of the original digital.
