Magnificent cigarette case in sterling silver 950/1000, total weight 206 grams, by Hénin & Compagnie, Parisian silversmiths active from 1896 to 1901.
Features:
Minerva head, 1st assay mark (Minerva’s head with the number 1)
Silversmith’s mark: H&Cie in a lozenge with a star
Geometric guilloché decoration reminiscent of Art Deco avant la lettre
Functional clasp, very pleasant spring-loaded opening
Condition: Good overall, wear consistent with age. Secure closure.
