Yves Offret (1946 – 2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret dedicated his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the venue of a careful pictorial exploration of the landscapes, the changing lights and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work attracted the attention of an audience receptive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of life transform into sensitive evocations, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret left behind a body of work that is discreet yet sincere, bearing witness to an artist’s attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of daily life.
