Description from the seller

Pierrot Men : "Marondala, Madagascar"
Born in 1954 in Madagascar. Lives and works in Finarantsoa (Madagascar).
Pierrot Men captures Madagascar, its people, its workers, its children, its landscapes. In his photographs the island’s heavy context is drawn: you can discern the burnt lands of Madagascar that have today become uncultivable, or the lack of access to drinking water.
The image, however, is not harsh, nor is it sad; it always conveys life, joy, and hope.
Founder of one of the largest laboratories in Finarantsoa, the "Labo Men", his images convey his human qualities and are as much documentary as authorial photography. His work has been shown in France, Madagascar, Tunisia, Réunion, Guinea, Belgium, South Africa and Mayotte. In 2018, he exhibited his prints at the Musée du Quai Branly. He won the UNEP/Canon Prize in 2000.
