Japanese 清水Kiyomizu Ware Incense Burner 陶五Tougo Gold Decorated Tripod Koro with Original Wooden Box
This is a refined Japanese incense burner 香炉(kōro) crafted in Kiyomizu ware (清水焼Kiyomizu-yaki), signed 陶五 (Tougo). The piece features a rounded tripod form with a pierced lid, allowing incense smoke to gently diffuse.
The surface is richly decorated with expressive gold splashes over a deep brown base, combined with engraved floral motifs, creating a striking contrast between elegance and rustic texture. This artistic combination reflects both traditional Japanese aesthetics and a modern decorative sensibility.
The original wooden box (共箱tomobako) is included, inscribed with “金彩釉 香炉” (gold-decorated glaze incense burner) and a note indicating it was presented as a gift on November 11, 2007 (Heisei 19).
