Vegetable dish (2) - Silver - Mappin & Webb’s

Superb silver-plated serving dish with lid, signed Mappin & Webb’s – Prince’s Plate, Sheffield (England), dating from the early 20th century.

A fairly rare octagonal model, with elegant lines, adorned with a beautiful monogram engraved on the lid. A typical piece of high-quality English silversmithing.

The lid handle is removable, allowing the lid to be used separately: the piece thus becomes two serving dishes.

Condition: very good condition. The silver plating is intact, with a nice shine. There is a light patina and fine time traces, normal for an antique piece.
