This vase by Teraike Shizuto（寺池 静人） has a soft rounded body with a narrow neck and small mouth, giving it a calm and elegant silhouette. Around the shoulder, dark green leaf-like motifs are arranged with fine reddish-brown linework, creating a quiet botanical design.

About the artist:
Teraike Shizuto 寺池 静人 is a Japanese ceramic artist born in Kyoto in 1933. He studied under Kusube Yaichi and first entered the Nitten exhibition in 1955, later becoming independent in the Kiyomizu ware district in 1966. He is known for decorative ceramic works using flower and bud motifs, and for developing his own glaze expression called Yūtekisai（釉滴彩）, inspired by the sparkle of water droplets on flowers after rain. He received the Japan Art Academy Prize in 2013 and was recognized as a Kyoto City Person of Cultural Merit in 2018.
