A contemporary abstract acrylic painting where a structured territory emerges through layered planes and controlled spatial divisions. The composition is dominated by deep blue fields, contrasted with areas of red and yellow that introduce subtle points of tension within the space.

Fine incised lines traverse the surface, organizing the composition through minimal yet precise divisions. These lines function as internal structures, guiding the viewer across the painting and suggesting transitions between different levels of perception.

Geometric forms appear distributed throughout the field as points of presence. These elements introduce rhythm and scale, reinforcing the architectural character of the work and establishing a quiet balance within the composition.

A soft horizontal curvature runs across the central plane, subtly interrupting the rigidity of the structure and introducing a sense of fluidity within the otherwise stable field.

This contemporary abstract painting emphasizes balance, restraint and structural clarity over gesture. The work operates as a constructed field, where space is defined through proportion, division and controlled tension rather than representation.

About the artist

Maurizio Valch is a visual artist, writer and graphic designer, trained in Graphic Design and Fine Arts. He lived in Miami (USA) until 2013, where he ran his own studio, and later in Barcelona (Spain), where he participated in exhibitions at the Royal Artistic Circle. In 2017 he presented a work at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has also collaborated with MACBA.

His work explores the genesis of metaphysical territories — pictorial spaces where geological landscape and human consciousness begin to intersect.

Using a visual language inspired by geology, horizon lines and tectonic formations, Valch constructs territories where the emergence of individual awareness appears to arise from the earth itself. Within these landscapes, symbolic elements such as stairways, monolithic forms and architectural traces act as markers of perception, transition and genesis.

Rather than depicting historical narratives or social structures, his paintings focus on a primordial moment: the appearance of individual consciousness within the territory.

Many of his works are accompanied by original poetic texts written by the artist.
