Description from the seller
Hans Gerber
(1910–1978)
Abstract composition, mixed media and collage on paper, signed in pencil at the bottom left. The work presents a refined construction in horizontal planes, obtained by overlapping papers of different nature, earthy tones and cooler chromatic inserts. The language is typical of postwar abstract research, with a balance between formal rigor and material sensitivity.
Visible sheet dimensions: about 64 × 49 cm.
Image dimensions: about 19 × 26 cm.
Condition: good, with normal signs of aging consistent with the technique and materials used. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
Shipping / pickup:
Careful packaging and tracked shipping. Postal shipment is the most economical method but not the most protective for works of art; in particular, for works on paper, it is not possible to guarantee the absence of all stresses during transport. Insurance available on request (costs borne by the buyer). Any duties, customs charges, or delays are the buyer’s responsibility and may also occur for shipments within Europe, as this is a shipment from Switzerland. Pickup in Geneva by appointment is possible and preferable.
Good auction.
