About the work:
"Aloe" (Alien Lost On Earth) embodies a human being who feels like a stranger in the modern world, immersed in a society where cultural richness seems to decline, increasing insecurity and a future lacking in clarity. This evocative character takes us to the heart of a deep nostalgia for the 80s, a era that, in a moving way, reflects a past now distant and irreplaceable, carrying timeless memories.
Despite feeling out of sync with this world, he, almost unwittingly, tries to blend in, exploring subtleties to gradually assimilate.
About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau, self-taught painter, was born in Marseille in 1970; he lives today near Aix-en-Provence.
With Frédéric Truteau, humor and derision are precious artistic tools.
An artifice to take the opposite stance to ideas and situations commonly accepted.
To dare, to push, to disturb, to surprise, no matter what.
For Frédéric Truteau, the essential is to provoke a reaction by sharing his own vision of things.
