Jacques Villégier - A la fenêtre 1976

Image from a reportage at the Opéra de Bordeaux in 76. During a dress rehearsal a dancer lingered at the enormous window of the foyer.

Jacques Villégier:
« It’s the dance photo that put me on the path to photography. For about ten years I traveled from studios to theaters. Part of these images was acquired by the Bibliothèque Nationale. I was a member for 10 years of the Explorer agency and published in numerous national and international magazines and journals. »

This print was made on traditional silver-based paper but then treated in fresh baths to give it this sepia tint. This technique I used to practice is called the "virage". It also enhances the richness of the tones.
