This work holds the viewer. It does not let go. There is a presence — a quiet inner drama, almost like a theatrical pause. This is not merely a portrait; it is a state of being.

I painted this figure turned inward. Her eyes are closed, removing any direct contact with the viewer and shifting everything into an internal space. She is not posing — she is experiencing. It is the moment before something is said, before something changes.

I worked carefully on the face, building it through subtle transitions to achieve depth and stillness. The lips became a quiet focal point — slightly tense, holding back what is not yet spoken.

In contrast, I treated the garment in a more material way. Using Van Gogh acrylic paints together with Van Gogh relief paste, I built a dense, tactile surface, almost sculptural. This contrast between smooth skin and textured fabric creates tension and presence.

The background is layered, combining warm golden and terracotta tones with flashes of pink and violet. I approached it as both a space and a memory — structured, yet open. The painting balances control and spontaneity, allowing the surface to remain alive.

The work is finished with three layers of professional acrylic varnish, enhancing depth, protecting the surface, and ensuring longevity.
