Description from the seller

Eugen Eichenberger (1926–2015)
Le Pont Neuf, Paris

Oil on board, signed lower right E. Eichenberger.

Elegant view of the Pont Neuf in Paris, one of the capital’s most iconic sites, interpreted with a free and atmospheric painting. The bridge unfolds into depth through a succession of arches reflecting on the Seine, creating a harmonious and dynamic visual rhythm.

The brushwork, swift and synthetic, builds the image with glazes and vibrant touches, evoking the soft, slightly veiled light typical of Parisian urban sights. The gray-blue tones of the water dialogue with the warmer hues of the bridge and the city in the background, giving the work a pleasantly cohesive color unity.

Representative work of Eugen Eichenberger’s landscape production, a Swiss artist known for his urban and lakeside views treated with impressionist sensibility.

On the back a stamp from the frame maker Borden, Lausanne (Rue de la Grottaz 7), an interesting element for the history of the piece.

Technique: oil on board
Unframed dimensions: 32 × 42 cm
Framed dimensions: about 40 × 50 cm
Condition: good overall, with minor signs of aging
Frame included

Careful shipping with professional packaging. Please note that postal shipping, while the most economical option, is not ideal for works of art and does not guarantee the absence of risks, particularly for original rigid supports. Tracked shipping; insurance on request and at the buyer’s expense. Possible longer delivery times and customs costs for international shipments (including within the European Union). Pickup in Geneva is recommended. In case of return of the lot, the cost of re-shipment will be borne by the buyer.
