AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Very beautiful seascape painting, a cliff landscape, oil on old wooden panel, signed Ruben at the bottom left - Paul RUBEN (1882-1955) - framed in a very handsome frame with wide raw light wood mouldings with grooves, chic. Magnificent colors enhanced with turquoise, the painting is very luminous.

Panel alone 46x33 cm landscape format, with frame 55x43 cm in total, thickness 4 cm. Very good overall condition, however the painting shows fine craquelure of the oil over the entire surface due to the woodwork in particular, some small stains at the top left especially, wood visible in certain areas, wear or original, a very small discreet hole at the top center probably an old attachment, frame very clean with light wood work in the corners, large hanging hook at the back. Overall harmonious. It could be one of the artist's early works, the P in the signature being absent, perhaps from the 1920s-1930s. About 1.5-2 kg.
