Description from the seller
Buffet Crampon E13 Bb clarinet rebuilt by a professional
The E13, a mythical name for a clarinet unchanged for over 60 years. Originating from the BC20 – Jacques Lancelot’s clarinet – the E13 accompanies amateurs and professionals in conservatories, music schools, and band orchestras around the world.
Made from Mozambique grenadilla wood in the best pieces and assembled in the brand’s workshops, it has all the technical characteristics of the semi-professional range: nickel-plated keys, flat springs and blue needles, pointed screws and natural cork tenons.
It bears serial number K70447, engraved on the upper and lower bodies, dating from 1987.
It has a silver finish with 100% silver plating.
It is Mozambique ebony, free from cracks or flaws; the wood has been cleaned and treated with Abrasín oil.
Fully overhauled, it has just been retamponed by a professional luthier with 37 years of experience for a major oboe and clarinet manufacturing brand. All the cork pads have been replaced with Liege pads except the four low-B keys, which were replaced with white leather by "RIGOTTI". The seal of the pads is perfect.
The tenon corks are in good condition.
The ebony wood is of superb quality, without gaps, damage, or repairs; it has been cleaned and oiled with Abrasín oil. The instrument’s core is dazzling, attesting to the high quality of the ebony.
Carefully adjusted, it is ready to play; it is very easy to sound across the entire range, just in tune at 442 Hz, powerful and homogeneous. It has been tested with a Vandoren 5RV mouthpiece.
It will be delivered in a Buffet Crampon case with a Buffet Crampon mouthpiece in average condition.
Some of the key dampening corks that needed replacement were replaced.
Its warm, centered tone, its evenness and its enhanced projection will give complete satisfaction to professionals as well as to those wishing to move into the high-end segment.
It’s truly a superb instrument! the possibility to come and try it in Dijon.
