Nepal; Lapis Lazuli Beetle Ring, an antique-style scarab ring in silver with 925 inside, carved from natural lapis lazuli and sized EU 54, currently in fair condition.
Description from the seller
This is an antique-style piece of jewelry imbued with the mysterious culture of ancient Egypt. The core piece is a scarab ring carved from natural lapis lazuli.
Color: Deep, rich imperial blue (sapphire blue/royal blue), with a uniform and pure color.
Inclusions: The surface is covered with natural pyrite and trace amounts of calcite, the most authentic identifier of natural lapis lazuli, not artificially dyed. The inside of the ring band is marked with 925 sterling silver. It is purely handmade, and the ring face can be flipped, making it also beautiful as a pendant. The Egyptian scarab is made of natural old lapis lazuli, exquisitely hand-carved, an antique with a warm, lustrous finish.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, the scarab represents the sun god Ra, symbolizing rebirth, reincarnation, protection, good fortune, and royalty. The ancients believed that the scarab rolling a ball of dung symbolized the rising and setting of the sun, thus it is synonymous with "resurrection and eternity."
