AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful old 4/4 violin, with the label Joannes Baptiste Guadagnini, for further text see photos. The instrument was probably made in France around 1900. Remarkable is its unusually light weight, 400 g, which is rare and probably also explains its full tone and its direct response on the drawn bow. The instrument had a crack on the underside of the right sound hole, which was professionally repaired and has reinforcements from the inside. The violin has been restrung and fitted with a new soundpost, so it is ready to play. Its measurements are 60.0 cm, 36.2 cm, 17.3 cm, 11.8 cm, 21.2 cm, with a vibrating body length of 32.5 cm. The vibrating top is made of Alpine spruce, the back is made from a single piece of deeply flamed mountain maple as are the ribs and the neck. It is delivered in a beautiful wooden hard case, in especially good condition. Carefully packaged, the instrument is shipped with Colissimo, traceable online.

As 'certified' or 'aired' violins and bows described contain pictures of their certificates and therefore carry a higher degree of documented security regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we do not provide any warranty.
