Description from the seller
Artisanal liturgical mitre for bishops and cardinals.
Head circumference size (medium fit): about 56.
Measurements: height 27 cm (with the infule, maximum height 67 cm)
Width maximum 34 cm
Crafted in contemporary times (post-2000), it stands out for its sober elegance and careful detailing, in line with the liturgical tradition of the Catholic Church. The structure is the classic decorated Latin mitre, with two well-defined points and a harmonious, balanced shape, sustained by a rigid internal core that guarantees stability and wearability during celebrations.
The main fabric presents a refined ivory-white tone, with a fine and regular weave. The surface is embellished with gold galloons applied with great precision: two vertical bands descend from the top to the base, framing the smooth central part, while a horizontal gold band runs along the base of the mitre, creating an elegant and solemn visual balance. The finishes are precise, with regular and well-executed stitches, indicating careful artisanal craftsmanship.
The posterior infule in coordinated white fabric are 40 cm long and finished with a fine gold fringe, which adds a further touch of value without being excessive.
Overall, the item is in excellent condition: the fabrics are clean and well maintained, with only light creases on the infule due to storage, easily removable. No particular signs of significant wear are evident, except those due to normal liturgical use. The structure maintains its shape perfectly.
This mitre thus represents a liturgical vestment of great dignity and stylistic balance, suitable both for use in episcopal and cardinal celebrations, and as a collector’s piece for those who appreciate contemporary sacred art and ecclesiastical textile tradition.
