Natali Wood, Encina, original ink engraving on rice paper (50 × 40 cm), created in 2026, in a limited edition, hand-signed, Spain, depicting nature.
Description from the seller
Oak – Black ink engraving on rice paper
Original graphic work by the Spanish artist Natali Wood, created through an artisanal process that combines wood engraving with the Japanese technique Yakisugi (Shou Sugi Ban).
The wood matrix is worked manually and subjected to light surface carbonization —a characteristic of Yakisugi— to highlight the natural texture of the wood and its internal structure.
The result is an organic and powerful image in charcoal-black ink, where each line faithfully reproduces the true imprint of the wood, captured without digital processes.
Each print shows slight variations inherent to the manual process, making every copy have a unique character.
The use of artisanal rice paper provides lightness, translucency, and a great sensitivity to the contrast between the deep black of the ink and the white of the support.
Natali Wood’s work focuses on manual processes, the relationship between nature and matter, and the trace of time in wood, turning the tree’s internal structure into a graphic image.
