Hand-cut crystal decanter – possibly Baccarat, Europe, c. 1870
An exceptionally refined crystal decanter, crafted from hand-cut crystal, dating from around 1870 and originating from Europe. This piece is distinguished by its very high-quality cut work and elegant, balanced form.
The decanter is richly adorned with deeply cut geometric patterns and facets, which refract light in an impressive manner and create a sparkling play of reflections. The precision and quality of the cut indicate a high level of craftsmanship and recall the production of renowned glassworks such as Baccarat.
Such decanters were part of the refined table culture of the 19th century and were used for serving wine or spirits. Due to its quality and appearance, this specimen is an attractive collectible within antique crystal.
