Chess Auction

This is not merely a chess game but an artistic creation composed of 32 pieces made predominantly from marble powder sourced from the Carrara quarries.

The pieces are leveled and daubed individually, then aged and hand-painted by master artisans; the entire production takes place in Italy, in the province of Lucca.

This chess set represents the French army commanded by Napoleon Bonaparte upon his return from exile on the island of Elba, and the armies of the European allied states, in the Battle of the Hundred Days, which culminated with the Battle of Waterloo (1815).

WARNING: the heights of the pieces, being handmade, may vary by a few millimeters.

Questo non è un solo gioco di scacchi ma una creazione artistica composta da 32 pezzi realizzati prevalentemente con polvere di marmo proveniente dalle cave di Carrara.

I pezzi vengono spianati e ritoccati uno ad uno per poi essere invecchiati e dipinti a mano da maestri artigiani; l’intera lavorazione avviene in Italia nella provincia di Lucca.

Questo set di scacchi rappresenta l’esercito Francese comandato da Napoleone Bonaparte al suo rientro dall’esilio sull’Isola d’Elba e gli eserciti degli Stati europei alleati, nella battaglia dei 100 giorni che ebbe il suo epilogo con la Battaglia di Waterloo (1815).
