This is a rare copy of Charles Dickens'; "A Christmas Carol". The title was first released in 1843 and is the first book from the five Christmas Books. This copy dates to circa 1885 and features John Leech's classic illustrations. The book is bound in red cloth, with a holly leaves & berries design over the top and is part of Routledge's "Pocket Library". It has been lightly read and it remains in Good condition. It is a delightful little book and would make a wonderful addition to any decorative collection or private library.
CONDITION & FEATURES
- Copyright Edition - undated, printed circa 1885
- Good overall condition
- Beautiful Christmas Holly & Berries design to the Front & Rear Boards
- Gilt titles to the Spine
- Black & white plates by John Leech
- Pages are generally clean & straight
- Spine is neat but grubby - minor cracking to the rear hinge
- Boards are straight but marked & worn at the edges
- Hinges & bindings are secure
- Text block is complete
- Neat signature to the Front Flyleaf
