Nabuurs & Van Doorn present a C-print titled Vincent, edition 7, date of print 2022, in Fraai condition, 60 cm by 40 cm, signed, sold by Galerie in Kunstfotografie.
Description from the seller
The work of Nabuurs&VanDoorn thematizes hidden pasts, art history, industrialization, migration and (im)material heritage. They make current gaps visible from an understanding of place, surroundings, people and culture, nature and the environment. They distill sharp fragments from hidden sources that bring ethical questions from the past into the present. Subsequently Nabuurs&VanDoorn present them in the form of quotations, censorship, repetition and simulation in film, intervention, performance and photography.
They were artist-in-residence at Likovni Salon Celje 2009, the Dutch Cacaofabriek Helmond 2009, Embassy Gallery Edinburgh 2011, Łaźnia, Centre for Contemporary Art, Gdansk 2014, Basiskamp Entre Nous Frederiksoord 2017, FILTER Detroit 2017, Boghossian Foundation Brussels 2018 and ViaFarini Milan 2019. Their work has been shown in exhibitions including FILTER Hamburg 2006, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven 2008/2011/2018/2022, New Museum New York 2008, The Forgotten Bar Project Berlin 2010, Onomatopee Eindhoven 2012, 12 Hay Hill London 2014, Documenta 14 Kassel 2017, Villa Empain Brussels 2018, Museum voor Moderne Kunst St. Petersburg 2019 and Address Unknown Milan 2021. Nabuurs&VanDoorn were nominated for the Follow Fluxus Grant in 2008 and 2020 and received the Annemarie and Lucius Burckhardt Fellowship in 2016 and 2019. Since 2021, Nabuurs&VanDoorn have been expert advisers in artistic research at Fontys University of the Arts in Tilburg.
