Two brass decorative wall pieces from Belgium, dating to the 1950s–1960s and 1960s–1970s, consisting of a horse head with a riding crop and a hunting scene ashtray, together weighing about 780 g and showing a warm patina with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
1. Brass wall ornament – horse head with riding crop
The object is entirely made of brass with a warm, gold-brown patina that points to age or long use.
The horse head is realistically shaped: clear contours of the jawline, nostrils, muscular cheeks and a slightly forward-facing gaze.
The manes are stylized but still detailed, with flowing lines that give direction and suggest texture.
Behind the horse head runs a riding crop or whip diagonally downward. It is slender, cylindrical and ends in a small loop or knob.
The piece appears intended as a decorative wall piece, possibly with a symbolic link to equestrian sport, hunting traditions or country interiors.
The finish shows light wear and discoloration, typical for vintage brass.
length : 18,5 cm.
breadth : 23,5 cm.
hight : 3 cm.
weight : 400 gr.
2. Brass ashtray with a hunting scene
This is a rectangular brass ashtray with raised, elegantly shaped rims.
On the four sides are cigarette rests, subtly integrated into the design.
The central panel shows a raised relief of a deer or stag standing proudly in a forest landscape.
The animal is detailed: slender legs, muscular chest, clearly defined antlers, and an alert stance.
The background contains trees, shrubs and grass, all in relief, creating a depth effect.
The edge of the ashtray has a Baroque or Rococo style, with scrolls, flowing lines and ornaments.
Here as well the brass color is warm and lightly oxidized, which gives the piece an antique appearance.
length : 17 cm.
breadth : 14 cm.
hight : 2 cm.
weight : 380 gr.
TOTAL : 781 gr.
