This majolica (or slip-decorated) plate is an example of French ceramics from the late 19th century (around 1880-1890). It features a naturalistic relief decoration characteristic of that era.
French majolica, often associated with manufacturers such as Sarreguemines or Onnaing. These pieces are prized for their vibrant colors and their intricate details, as here on this decorative plate.
Decor: motif of white dog roses with a pink heart, buds and green foliage on an intensely turquoise background.
