Modernist Silver “U-Drip” Necklace - Erling Christoffersen for Norway Plus- ca. 1960
A beautiful example of Scandinavian modernist design. This silver necklace consists of a sleek choker-like ring (spang) with an impressive pendant. The design is characterized by the iconic U-shaped “swing” to which a stylized flower form and a large hand-forged silver spiral hang.
Erling Christoffersen was a key figure within the ‘Plus’ colony in Norway, known for the high artistic quality of their silverwork. This specific design is a sought-after collectible for enthusiasts of Mid-Century Modern jewelry.
Condition: In very good vintage condition. The silver has a beautiful, authentic patina. The spiral is in perfect shape.
