Roger Edgar Gillet (1924-2004) - Philosophe

One of the greats of the last century who devoted his entire artistic career to research, reaching maturity. Then, precisely in 1996, he seems to have rediscovered his deepest and most authentic roots through the rediscovery of the human face, in its existential and dramatic dimension.
They are born in ’96 his "apotres" (apostles) and the Philosophes (philosophers).
The work I present is one of the most recognized by critics for its intensity.
It is an oil on paper of incredible force, bordering on the grotesque.
