Robert Deblander (1924-2010) was a French ceramist and potter, regarded as one of the leading figures in the revival of stoneware in France after World War II. Born in Paris, he studied at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs before dedicating himself to ceramics. He initially worked with faience from 1949 to 1957, then turned to stoneware, becoming a major figure in French ceramic art in the second half of the 20th century. His works, marked by a constant pursuit of balance and purification, draw inspiration from both abstraction and extreme-oriental aesthetics. He notably collaborated with the Manufacture de Sèvres in the 1990s. His artistic legacy is recognized in France and abroad.
