In this explosive scene, SKE bends two popular icons: Lucky Luke and the little girl with the balloon. But here the cowboy does not shoot faster than his shadow... he shoots at a symbol.
The balloon, image of dream and innocence, bursts mid-flight. Not to destroy, but to reveal. Like an invitation to break free from the illusions imposed by a world saturated with codes, brands and false desires.
Between dollars, references to consumption and raw urban textures, the work captures the energy of street art to deliver a simple message: sometimes you have to blow up the dream... to create a real one.
A pop & street piece, direct, visual and striking, faithful to SKE’s universe: playing with symbols to turn them around.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who was immersed in 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.
He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen noticeably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master contest (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was chosen as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE is also making an impact in the digital art market, a major trend in the last two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics and textured work characterize a style now essential.
SKE is undoubtedly an artist to watch, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Renowned & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY The work of SKE sits within a prestigious lineage. His line shows the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge eras: they revisit classics, not hesitating to détourne Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics and graphic novels is omnipresent: from Nintendo and the legendary Game Boy universe, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), through Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the aesthetics of "Hype": sneaker universe (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes evoking the glossy surface of a Jeff Koons or the facets of a Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
