ABOUT THE WORK — Sakura
Inspired by the symbolism of the Japanese cherry blossom (sakura), this photograph transforms the idea of blooming and renewal into a human figure: the branches sprout around the body as if they were a natural extension of its identity, creating a delicate and ceremonial portrait.
A Japanese dragon coils through the composition, evoking the mythical imagination of the East and establishing a visual dialogue between fragility and power, between the transience of the flowers and the ancient strength of the legend. The golden circle in the background —like a rising sun— functions as a nod to Japan and its bond with nature, the cycle of time, and rebirth.
Sakura is, thus, an image of contrast and harmony: soft beauty and symbolic tension, life and myth, stillness and contained energy.
